Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Jarvis application, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Jarvis is a desktop AI assistant for macOS. It operates in two modes:

Cloud Mode — your messages are routed through our backend proxy to third-party AI providers. The proxy handles authentication, rate limiting, and billing. Message content is not stored.
Secure Mode — all AI processing runs locally on your machine via Ollama. No data leaves your device.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and verify it before logging in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You must not share your account or use someone else's account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscription and billing

Jarvis offers two tiers:

Free — no charge. Access to auto-routed fast models with a daily usage cap.
Pro — £15 per month (inclusive of tax). Access to all models, higher usage limits.

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the app's Settings or via the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued for unused time.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use Jarvis for any illegal purpose or to generate illegal content.
Attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage caps, or authentication mechanisms.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the backend services.
Use automated tools to abuse the service (bots, scrapers, credential stuffing).
Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the service.

6. Intellectual property

Your content: You own the content you create using Jarvis. We claim no ownership over your prompts, files, or generated outputs.

Our software: The Jarvis application, backend services, website, and branding are our intellectual property. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the software.

7. Disclaimers

Jarvis uses third-party AI models to generate responses. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You should not rely on it as professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the app's Settings. This permanently removes your personal data and cancels any active subscription.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where practicable.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Jarvis after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
